Design
My design process begins with use cases, journey mapping and Information architecture to feel out all of the flows and organize the experience. Documentation was approved by the key stakeholders before UI design began.
Research
I began by conducting a series of stake holder interviews with product and marketing owners to identify key user personas that would be targeted with the service. I also reviewed their user database for customer information to refine down the identified key user personas.

Overview
Rich’s wanted to establish another customer sales channel by establishing a community site for culinary trends. Rich’s goal is to inspire chefs using their products to try new ideas and in the end buy more products.
Results
-
Meet deadline of 2 months including design phase.
-
Handed over to client and trained staff on managing platform.

User Survey
Based on Rich’s goals and user personas I created an Initial feature list that was tested at a culinary event in NY to determine what would motivate a user to join a culinary community. The results were used to prioritize the user experience.

UX Research
After persona and motivators were defined I researched common UX patterns and features in community and recipe apps.

UI Design
Quick cycles within the team were used to define the initial concepts. Once a direction was established key screens were mocked for multiple meetings with the client. Once agreement was made with the team I developed a few prototypes with inivision to test.
Screens were annotated with notes for stakeholder approval and development.

Style Guide
I developed a branding/UX guide for client to manage site after launch.
